Faculty Merger at University of Sydney

Faculty Merger at University of Sydney

Upset over faculty merger plan at Sydney University. THE heads of two of the most prestigious faculties at the University of Sydney have rejected a plan to incorporate their schools into a new ”division”, arguing it will harm their reputations and create another bureaucratic layer.

The dean of the faculty of law, Professor Gillian Trigg, and her counterpart in the faculty of economics and business, Professor Peter Wolnizer, have written to the Vice-Chancellor, Michael Spence, urging him to retain their status as ”stand-alone” professional schools.
