Melbourne Food and Wine Festival March 2014
Melbourne Food and Wine Festival – Australia’s internationally acclaimed celebration of food and wine.
Melbourne Food and Wine Festival will celebrate all things water from 28 February – 16 March 2014.
Each year in March Melbourne Food and Wine Festival unveils a world-class program of more than 250 events – a true expression of Melbourne’s infamous love of food and wine that captures the attention of food-lovers in their hundreds of thousands.
The 2014 Festival will fully investigate the theme of water taking food and wine lovers on a journey to appreciate the most precious resource on earth.
The Festival spills through restaurant doors, onto the water, along river banks, down laneways, by the ocean and deep into picturesque wine country.
The Festival’s prestigious reputation attracts the world’s biggest culinary and wine personalities to participate in a program that also showcases Victoria’s own celebrated chefs, restaurateurs, winemakers, sommeliers, producers and artisans.
The 2014 festival will launch with a spectacular 1500 seated Worlds Longest Lunch along the banks of the Yarra and will culminate in a bucolic weekend in stunning regional Victoria. With an abundance of events on offer there is something for everyone to devour and enjoy.
Throughout Festival 2014, we will simmer ideas and concepts with some of the best chefs and winemakers in the world, explore the bounty of lakes, ponds and waterways and take brave leaps into the depths of our oceans. We will consider irrigation, discuss what aquaculture means for our future and contemplate hand-diving practices.
